Book your pTau test at a local lab
A new blood test that screens for levels of a protein called pTau can help you understand your risk for developing Alzheimer’s.

A pTau test is a simple blood test that screens for levels of the pTau protein. In healthy brains, tau proteins help nerve cells work properly. When tau becomes “phosphorylated,” it means a small chemical tag attaches to the protein and changes how it works, which can cause it to build up in harmful ways. Higher levels of pTau can damage nerve cells and affect memory and thinking. Even if someone has higher levels of pTau, this is not an Alzheimer’s disease diagnosis.
This test checks for higher levels of pTau so you can talk with your doctor about next steps, including further testing or possible early interventions.
